It measures the HR function’s effectiveness and efficiency in producing employee behaviors needed to achieve an organization’s strategic goal. Given the nature of the study, there were two distinct variables involved during the course of this study - HR Scorecard & HR Effectiveness. The study explored the Hypotheses ‘Having a HR Scorecard enhances the HR effectiveness in Indian Organizations’. The research study was exploratory and qualitative in nature HR professionals from 13 organizations and nine industry sectors were sampled adopting both open ended and close ended questions. The major findings indicated that few Indian organizations use HR Scorecard, however majority of the organizations use Balanced Scorecard instead of HR Scorecard. Strong relationship was perceived between the use of Balanced Scorecard, HR Scorecard and enhancement of HR effectiveness. Balanced Scorecard brings about changes in the organization and HR Scorecard is an additional tool. The HR scorecard sees human resource management practices as a strategic asset. The findings support the Hypothesis that ‘having a HR Scorecard enhances the HR effectiveness in Indian organizations.
