Assessing the suitability of industry-based technologies learning resources to Olivarez college business education curricula

Abstract

The study examined the impact of adopting the SAP Business One Model on the business curricula of Olivarez College on the development of learning dimensions that covers the different areas of business which include (a) Accounting and Financials; (b) Sales and Customer Relationship Management; (c) Purchasing and Operations; (d) Inventory and Distributions and (e) Reporting and Administration. The descriptive analysis method of research was utilized. It was found that information from the different modules of SAP Business One Enterprise Resource Planning matched with the business administration curricula of Olivarez College. The process integrates various functions of a business including inventory and order management; accounting; human resources and customer relationship management which results in a streamlined process and available information to various users designed through a shared database. Thus, it is recommended to design the curriculum using industry-based technologies to produce graduates that possess a familiarity with business operations and equip them with critical decision-making skills for strategic and executive work necessary for competing in the ever-changing world of global business.
