Abstract

India's economy has grown remarkably during the past few years, making it one of the fastest-growing in the world. The nation's poverty and food insecurity remain a worry, nevertheless, despite the Indian economy's many successes. Diet is a crucial component of an individual's nourishment, growth, and development. For everyone to have active, healthy lifestyles, there must always be enough food grains available. However, obtaining food twice a day is not the only aspect of what is meant by food security. It has a range of sizes. such as accessibility, cost, or availability. Food production in the nation, food imports, and the availability of food in government granaries are all considered. Additionally, everyone should have access to food without restriction and have enough money to purchase an adequate amount of wholesome food to suit their dietary needs. In this research paper, the problems of food security and the public distribution system in India have been studied.
