Online Published on 26 October, 2023. Abstract Background Fishermen is the individuals whose occupation is fishing in the sea. They face more difficult and dangerous working conditions at sea. Due to work and way of living in sea it caused sleep disturbance. The aim of the study was assessing the effect of listening to music on quality of sleep among fishermen. Methods Quantitative research approach was adopted in this study. Quasi-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test was conducted 73 Fishermen were selected by convenient sampling technique. Pretest and Post-test was conducted by using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale. The data was collected, and analyzed in terms of both descriptive and inferential statistics. Results The result show that, the pretest mean and standard deviation value of quality of sleep were 10.82 and 2.84 respectively. The post-test mean and standard deviation value were 3.52 and 1.47 respectively. The obtained p value of quality of sleep is highly statistically significant at p<0.0000. Conclusion The post- test will help to improve the quality of sleep than that of pretest. So, Listening to Music is effective in improving the quality of sleep among fishermen.
