Pollen grain studies in bael (Aegle marmelos Correa) Singh V.P., S.M.S. (Horticulture), Misra K.K., Professor and Head Department of Horticulture, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar-263 145, Distt.- U.S. Nagar (Uttarakhand) Online published on 5 April, 2012. Abstract Studies on pollen grains of Bael were conducted at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. The round shaped pollen grains were found in all the genotypes under investigation. The variation in size of pollens was non-significant. Pollen viability was recorded high in each genotype and ranged from 92.02% (PB-16) to 98.87% (PB-4). Pollen germination studies on four commercial cultivars (Pant Shivani, Pant Urvashi, Pant Aparna and Pant Sujata) in different sugar and boric acid concentrations revealed that 15% sucrose + 0.01% boric acid in agar medium was most suitable for pollen germinability of Bael.
