Studies on vegetative growth, oil yield and quality parameters of lemongrass (Cymhopogon flexuosus) cultivars Singh S. R., Mohod R. P., Kumar N. Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, Kannauj-209726 Online published on 20 September, 2012. Abstract Four different cultivars (Clone-29, LS-48, CKP-25 and Cauvery) of Lemongrass were grown under good agronomical conditions and evaluated for their vegetative growth, on yield and quality parameters. Significant difference were observed in all the parameters studied among different cultivars. The highest plant height was observed in LS-48 cultivar (182.5 cm.) followed by CKP-25 (172.5 cm), Cauiveri (167.5 cm) and clone-29 (93.25 cm) respectively. Among these four cultlvars CKP-25 was superior baving maximum number of tillers (220), maximum number of leaves (2234) and highest weight (5.0 kg) per plant (clump). Cultlvar LS-48 was superior in citra! content (80.74%) and optical rotation (-2° 95'). Top | |
