Effect of temperature and pH on growth and sporulation of colletotrichum truncatum causing anthracnose of soybean

Abstract

Colletotrichum truncatum was grown at nine different temperature and twelve pH levels ranging from 5°C-to 40°C and 3.5 to 10.0 pH. The optimum temperature and pH for growth of the fungus were found to be 28°C and 6.0. Whereas, theminimum growth of the fungus was recorded at the temperature or 5°C and pH 10.0. Excellent sporulation was obseved at 25-30°C and pH levels 6.0-7.0.
