Abstract

This paper highlights the impacts of stress worldwide, affecting the development of people and the stress management skills required for the effective managerial performance. “It is not the stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it”----Hans Selye Everyone experiences stress to some degree. The way we respond to stress, however, makes a big difference to our overall well-being. [1] Stress is a normal human reaction that happens to everyone. In fact, the human body is designed to experience stress and react to it. Stress responses help our body in adjusting to new situations. When used positively, stress can lead to growth, action and change. But negative, long-term stress can lessen our quality of life. Therefore, a need of Stress Management arises, which offers a range of strategies to help us better deal with stress and difficulty (adversity) in our life. Managing stress can help us lead a more balanced, healthier life.
