Abstract

Women represent one of the developmental force in the world. They constitute 50 percent of the World population and contribute 66 percent of the working hours apart from contributing 50 percent of the food production (Ramaiah, 1991). Out of 31 million women force of the country, 20 million live in rural areas constituting one third of the labour force, where 60, 90 and 95 percent are engaged in agriculture, dairying and home activities. They actively participate in broad range of activities and dairy is a major allied occupation where women contribute largely on its management and labour as well (kaur et. al. 2004) Their roles are largely invisible in spite of their substantial contributions in economic growth of the country (Mahajan, 1992). Ninety percent of the farm women are not consulted in: making decisions in agriculture due to their lack of knowledge (Bajaj and Shailash, 1989), though they have vast potential to receive new ideas, ready to bear risk and have strong social and economic motives (Kaidan, 1988). Women of rural areas demand much attention on their technological empowerment to be enabling them to perform their roles with greater confidence, competency and excellence (Babel am Mogra 2004). In spite of the fact that, rural women cannot be trained and educate(through formal and long term curriculum because of their own culture, value system mode of communication, commitment t work and responsibilities to their families Print media too, practically do not reach v larger proportion of the rural women dui to their low level of literacy. They can no adhere to the rigid timings of mix medium due to their own busy affairs. Effective ways of communication amongst rural women enhance competencies of task performance (Henery et. al. 2004) and it in a foundation of all developmental activities (Bansal & Bhimavat, 2004).
