Instruction to Authors


Indian Journal of Applied-Basic Medical Sciences a peer reviewed journal welcome original articles, original review articles, case reports, and short communications of interest to medical fraternity.

The official language is English.

Articles are accepted on condition that these are submitted to Indian Journal of Applied-Basic Medical Sciences and are not submitted elsewhere for publication. The editors reserve the right to reject or edit any article. Articles accepted will be the sole property of the journal and all copyrights will be in the name of IJABMS. The article must be submitted with Submission Form, which is printed in this memorandum of journal

IJABMS is as a member of ICMJE and has adopted the “Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts (URM) submitted to Biomedical Journals” for its review and publication process. One can refer this on Internet at www.icmje.org.


Preparation of the Manuscript

The manuscript should be submitted to the editor by email or c omputer CD prepared in M.S. Word. However, 2 copies of the manuscript Print out should also be sent along with. Out of that one should not bear name/names of the author and or institute.

The material should be typed in A-4 Size paper only in double spacing.

Review Article: 4000 words excluding 50 references & abstract up to 250 words.

Original Article: 3000 words excluding 20 references & abstract up to 250 words.

Case Report & Brief Communication: 1000 words excluding abstract up to 150 words.

Letter to Editor: 500 words and 5 references.


Length of The Article

The article submitted for publishing should not exceed the limit.

The material should be typed in A-4 Size paper only in double spacing in Microsoft word format in Areal ,time new Roman or Helvetica in fond size 12.

Title Page / This should include the following:

Title of the article with type of manuscript such as case report, original article or short communication etc. A brief running Title and Key words (maximum 3).

Author's names with designations, Name and address of the Institution, Name and address for c correspondence.


Text

The text should have appropriate subheadings like Introduction, Material and Methods, Observation, Discussion, Acknowledgements etc. Reference numbers should be superscript and not written in parenthesis. Only standard abbreviations should be used and should be preceded by the full form on its first appearance. Generic name of the drugs are preferred to the trade names.


Tables, Figures and Illustrations

Each table and figure should be typed on separate page, be numbered in Roman numerical and have a brief descriptive title. Photographs should be glossy, clear and should be marked at the back with pencil containing name of the articles and author/s and should indicate the top of the figure by an arrow.

Colour prints can be made at the auth or's expense. Legends should be typed on a separate page.


References

References should be in the numerical order in which they are first cited in the text as Vancouver style


Reprints

All authors will receive two complimentary copies of the Journal.

Charges: The journal run on regular donation. Journal does not take any article processing charges (APCs) or article submission charges. Our dedicated, committed and motivated editorial committee members are always ready to react any new article and always ready to guide sender of the article. All the services are free of cost.

After accepting the article, we take nominal printing charges i.e. at present 750 seven hundred and fifty only - Indian rupees per page. And this charge is variable depending on the size of the article.
