Abstract This paper aims to study, explore and skim through the literature available about the developments in Indian economy with regard to implementation of Five-Year Plans after independence. The methodology of the study is based on a systematic review of the literature available at various secondary sources. Different studies have been searched considering the literature on Indian economy especially with regard to Five Year Plans. Out of the various studies available, few relevant studies have been extensively reviewed. To attain the said objectives as mentioned below, the descriptive and analytical methods have been employed. The study utilizes mainly the secondary data which consists of books, journals, newspapers, magazines, websites, and other relevant materials. It also studies and verifies the effects of Five-Year Plan on various economic indicators. Present study is considering the government target under the five-year plan. In 2015, the new government abolished the Planning commission and established the NITI Aayog under which government decided draft a new 15- year vision plan instead of five-year plan. Top |
