Abstract

Attempts have been made to study the effect of sodium chloride salinity on seed germination and early seedling growth in Jowar (CSH-5), Bajra (MBH-11 0), Wheat (HD-2189), Maize (African tall), Gram (Phule-G5) and Pigeon pea (T-21) to find out the critical limits of degree of salinity which may not affect adversely the germination, and to know the relative tolerance of crops to chloride salinity in vitro.
