Abstract

A field trial was conducted at Dapoli (Maharashtra) during rabi season of 2003–04 to test the performance of sweetcorn cultivar ‘Sumadhur’ underthe influence of different planting geometry, nitrogen levels and micronutrients. The values of growth and yield attributes were significantly higher under broader spacing of 75 x 20 cm. However, plant height, green cob and green biomass yield were significantly higher under 45 x 20 cm spacing than the broader spacing. Application of 150 and 225 Kg nitrogen ha−1 recorded signigicantly higher values for all growth and yield attributes than 75 Kg N ha−1 and control. In addition, application of micronutrient spray yielded significantly more dry matter per plant and green biomass ha−1 than control.
