Anatomical features of Tribulus terrestris L. Malode U.G., Manik S.R.* Department of Botany, Jagdamba Mahavidyalaya, Achalpur. * Department of Botany, Amravati University, Amravati. Abstract The internal structure of root, stem, petiole and leaf of Tribulus terrestris L. have been studied. Root and stem shows the presence of calcium oxalate crystals in the cortical as well as pith region and sclerenchymatous patch on outer side of each vascular bundle. In stem the ring of vascular bundles is present. Petiole shows the presence of five vascular bundles with a sclerenchymatous patch and calcium oxalate crystals. Leaf shows the presence of large curved vascular bundle in the midrib and small vascular bundles in the lamina. The genus is characterized by unicellular, unbranched, conical, pointed trichomes with a swollen base surrounded by 5–6 adjoining epidermal cells in rosette.
