Abstract

Electronic Commerce, commonly known as (electronic marketing) e-commerce or e-Commerce, consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks.

Mobile commerce is any commercial transaction conducted through any of a variety of mobile devices over a wireless telecommunication network in a wireless environment.

Mobile commerce was born in 1997 in Finland. M-commerce allows customers to access the Internet and conduct business just like they would if they were sitting in front of their personal computer.

The meaning of electronic commerce has changed over the last 30 years. Originally, electronic commerce means the facilitation of commercial transactions electronically, using technology such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Nowadays mobile commerce is one of the newest types of e-commerce. Promoting and improve this kind of e-commerce hinge to its adoption among people.

Several Stages of Mobile Commerce Adoption consist of following:

  1. Mobile banking and accounts, this is the delivery of basic account information to the handset. It is the minimum requirement moving forward and likely the first to see implementation.

  2. Mobile payments, this refers to the ability to use information stored on the handset to conduct valid, secure, real-time transactions.

  3. Mobile marketing, this refers to leveraging the knowledge of consumers and the immediacy of handset delivery for true one-to-one opt-in marketing.
