Abstract

Through the study it is found that women representation in local level politics is a matter worth research. However the recent studies brought success stories from different parts of the nation and this paved way to an increase in the percentage of reservation from 33 percent to 50 percent. Equal participation of men and women is required to strengthen women's positions in society. This is not just a demand for basic justice or democracy; it is a requirement for human survival. Women have long been overlooked in the development process. Change and development can only happen when women are given decision-making roles. It is also necessary to overcome patriarchal tendencies. Education, scientific outlook development, legal safeguards, and women's enlightenment and awareness of their own potential are effective forces in this direction. The situation can be changed by strengthening women's leadership, increasing their self-confidence and morale, and providing them with information.
