The field trails amongst twelve wheat varieties viz. sonalika, UP-2003, UP-115, UP-262, UP-368, UP-202, HP-1102, HP-1209, HD-2204, WL-711, Malviya 37 (HUW 37) and K65 were made. Out of these sonalika showed the highest response to pollution with respect to different parameters like grain yield and protein content. This variety maintained higher level of water balance in tissues due to increased rate otwater absorption by extensive root system associated with reduced rate of trapiration due to reduction in the aperture size of stomata. The well water and pollutant water of sugar factory was used to get the effect. Pollutant water was significantly responsive for increasing the yield and quality both in wheat.
