Abstract

Increase in groundwater utilization shows the demand of unpolluted water we require, shortage of ground water and surface water is increasing due to growth of population and rapid industrialization. Thus, it is very necessary to have several methods and equipment for water quality monitoring. In this study, the system has been designed and developed for real time online monitoring of groundwater quality that can work across the internet of things to generate data for analysis and to raise alert in any differences in data norms in water quality. The power supply for the system is generated from solar energy. The sensor module consists of different sensors to measure the water quality parameters which are crucial to determine the quality of ground water. The measured values from the sensors are processed by core controller that is arduinouno using Serial peripheral interface protocol. Then the data is transmitted to cloud computing through Ethernet. Finally, sensors data can view on internet using cloud computing. This method is convenient for management to take corresponding measures timely and be able to detect real time situation of groundwater quality remotely.
