Variables influencing participation in a collective physical activity among employees

Abstract

Background/Objectives

The purpose of this study was to examine the difference between growth mindset, organizational immersion, and organizational communication due to collective physical activity participation of 370 Korean workers.

Methods/Statistical Analysis

Data analysis was done using SPSS Win 21.0, and descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis and correlation analysis were performed. Also, discrimination analysis was conducted.

Findings

The results of this study were as follows. First, Most of the variables except the growth mindset showed a statistically significant correlation. Among these, business communication and creative communication have the highest correlation with the sub-variables of organizational communication. Next, it was followed by creative communication and emotional communication, business communication and emotional communication, organizational Immersion and emotional communication. Second, collective physical activity analysis showed that there was a difference in collective physical activity participation according to gender, age, marital status, intelligence of growth mindset, organizational immersion, emotional organizational communication. In other words, men, younger age, unmarried person, higher growth mindset, higher organizational immersion, and higher emotional organizational communication were more likely to participate in collective physical activity.

Improvements/Applications

The results of this study can be applied to maximize work efficiency by increasing the rate of group activity related to psychological variables of workers.
