Abstract

Since 1964, massive amounts of suspended sediments have deposited at the Egyptian-Sudanese border with almost 90% in Sudan and 10% in Egypt. Studies indicate that between 1964 and 2000, approximately 3.7 Bm³ of sediments have deposited in the Aswan High dam reservoir. Authors explain how these rich sediments can be mined using modern lake mining techniques.
