15. Numerical Model of Flows in the Underground Storage Reservoir of the Ombla HE Plant Natural State and the State Planned by the Project Jovic V. (Proceedings, Hydro 2003, Vol. I, Croatia, pp. 483–498). Abstract The schematization of the flows, i.e. areas for the model definition, has been performed according to the planned investigations: geological, speleological and respective system of monitoring rainfall, groundwater levels and measurements of the discharge of the Ombla River groundwater catchment and others. It has been shown that groundwater storage has been formed in the River Ombla catchment area, due to a dolomitic barrier, which runs parallel to the flysch layers, i.e. the Adriatic Coast. The hydrogeological barrier has been damaged in the central part of the catchment which caused the formation of a drainage system through which the underground area is discharged towards the sea, where the flysch layers reach the sea level, i.e. in the direction of the Ombla spring.
