Renewable energy sources: Situation and prospects

Abstract

The escalating financial, political and environmental costs associated with the dependence on fossil-fuels are forcing most nations to invest in all available alternatives, especially renewable, ecologically sustainable sources of energy. The wind, biomass, the sun and hydrogen are the most promising in the medium and long-term, both for industrial states and developing countries.
