The study focused on the morphological features of gills, where differences in gill arches, gill rakers and gill filaments were explained. The results of the present study marked that there was interbranchial median elevation in O. mykiss. The gill rakers and gill filaments varied in numbers and length in both the species. Numberwise gill filaments and gill rakers were more in the C. carpio var. specularis. However, lengthwise the gill filaments and gill rakers were longer in O. mykiss.
