Export Dumping of Agricultural Products: A Case of European Union

Rapid global trade reforms during the conclusion of the 20th century and the beginning of 21st century have resulted in emergence of new problems. The trade reforms have not only become havoc for the developing and the under developed world but also created panic mnongst developed countries particularly the trading nations to protect their market share and control over the global trade. Agricultural subsidies and dumping of agricultural products by developed countries in the developing world are the consequences of this. This paper examines the root causes and the consequences of the dumping of agricultural products. For this cases of some countries have been cited to show how consistently diary products are being dumped by European Union and how best this has resulted in damaging the economy and competitiveness of the developing economies.
