Author Guidelines
Manuscripts should be prepared in MS Word following the American Psychological Association publication manual, 7th edition.
Manuscript Format
Title Page
- Title of the paper (Title case; Capitalize the first letter of all words except articles and conjunctions, Bold, Centred)
- Author (s) name
- Author (s) affiliation
- Author (s) ORCID
- Corresponding author's contact details
- Abstract (A comprehensive summary of the content of the paper not exceeding 200 words)
- Keywords (4-5 words or phrases describing the most important aspects of the paper)
Main text
- Introduction (contextualize the work within the existing literature, address the importance of the work, and state the aims of the work)
- Method
- Results/Findings
- Discussion/Conclusion
References
Start the reference list on a new page after the main text. The first line of each reference is flush left, and subsequent lines are indented by 0.5 in. Order references alphabetically. There must be a corresponding reference in the reference list for each in-text citation, and vice-versa.
Tables and figures must be numbered and arranged within the text.
The word limit is 6000 words, except for the shorter book review. Line spacing: 2
Paragraph indenting: 0.5 in.
The language and spellings used should be British English. For non-English and uncommon words and phrases, use italics throughout the text. The meaning of non-English words should be given in parenthesis after the word is used for the first time. All abbreviations should be expanded where they are first used in the text.
Avoid shifting tenses within a text unit: paragraph, subsection, or section. Use the present tense for known facts and hypotheses. Use the past tense to describe the study conducted and the results.
The manuscript may be copy edited for error-free and unbiased language.

Peer Review Policy
Rajagiri Journal of Social Development follows a strict double-anonymous review policy in which the identity of the reviewer and the author are always concealed from both parties. After carefully considering the reviewers’ comments, the editor may accept or reject manuscripts. Accepted papers that need revision (s) will be returned to the authors. The authors are encouraged to resubmit the revised paper within the specified time frame.
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
RJSD takes copyright infringement, plagiarism, or other violations of best practices in publishing very seriously. Authors should submit a declaration of originality of the paper along with the manuscript. Also, include statements about conflict of interest and funding information.
About the College
Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), Kochi, started as a professional social work education pioneer, starting with Diploma in Social Service in 1955. Later in 1961, the Master of Social Work (MSW) program was started. Today it offers various levels of social work education from bachelor's to Ph.D. The Department of Social Work is rated the second-best social work education in the country. In the fourth re-accreditation cycle, the college achieved the highest NAAC score in India, with a CGPA of 3.83 (A++).
