Abstract

The experiment was carried out to find out the most effective toxicant against the major pests of summer green gram. The three years study revealed that all the treatments reduced the pest population significantly and found to be harmless to the natural enemies as well. Among the treatments, seed treatment with imidacloprid 600 FS @ 5 g ai kg-1 seed followed by spraying with chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 20.0 g ai ha-1 was the most effective treatment against spotted pod borer (Maruca vitrata) whereas, seed treatment with imidacloprid followed by spraying with diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 312.5 g ai ha-1 was the best option to manage flower thrips. Maximum seed yield as well as highest benefit cost ratio was also achieved by seed treatment with imidacloprid followed by spraying with chlorantraniliprole.
