Competitive behaviour of different legumes grown as intercrop with direct seeded upland rice Rajkhowa D.J., Baroova S.H. Department of Agronomy Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat-785013, India Online published on 29 October, 2012. Abstract Competitive behaviour of different legumes viz., cowpea, greengram and groundnut was studied In rice based Intercropplng systems. Results showed that except rice+groundnut, In all other systems, the legume components were dominant. Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp.) was found to be three times more competitive than rice. The maximum yield advantage was obtained from Intercropplng of upland rice with greengram in 2:2 row ratio. The highest rice equivalent yield was recorded with rice+greengram (2:2) and was closely followed by rlce+greengram (2: 1) and rice+greengram (2:2). Top | |
