Abstract

Introduction: Teaching-learning in the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic is challenging. It needs to be revamped to follow norms of social distancing. Therefore, conducting online classes becomes a necessity. In the communication process, feedback plays a major role. Hence feedback was collected from students, based on their experience of online lectures given by the instructors/teachers to assess the learning process. Students may or may not enjoy innovative online teaching-learning methods; in that case feedback helps to modify it into a more effective and acceptable method of teaching. Hence, in the present study, feedback of e-classes was assessed to understand the perceptions of medical students towards it. The study was done to assess the feedback of online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on feedback of online lectures by using the Online Google based questionnaire, which included ten questions. The questionnaire was sent to 150 students out of which 144 students consented to participate in the study by filling the response. Online feedback forms of e-classes were collected and analyzed in Microsoft Excel. Results: The medical students felt that online classes were better and were satisfied by the teachers’ way of delivering lectures, but it could not be replaced by traditional classroom teaching. The main hindrance in e-classes was internet connectivity. Conclusion: Feedback had a positive constructive effect on students’ learning. The e-classes helped us to continue the teaching-learning activities during the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
