Correlation of Serum Cholesterol Level in Cases of Suicidal Tendencies

Abstract

A study was conducted on 100 psychiatric cases suffering from various ailments as per DSM-IV classification having suicidal tendencies whose serum cholesterol level was estimated and was compared with 50 normal individuals as control cases to know any co-relation with serum cholesterol level and suicidal tendencies. Observations revealed low serum cholesterol showed suicidal tendencies.
