Abstract An experiment was conducted during 2019-20 and 2020-21 at Farmer's field, Village Baseli, Ajmer (Raj.) to study the effect of pruning severity and growth retardants on flowering, flower quality and yielf of Rosa damascena. The rose plants were pruned at the height (10,20 and 30 cm) above ground level and sprayed with growth retardants CCC and MH (each at 2000,4000, and 8000 ppm) twice viz. at appearance of 4-5 leaves on shoots after pruning and 15 days after first application . It was observed that plants pruned at 30 cm height and sprayed with CCC 2000 ppm solution, early flowered with better sized flower and maximum flower production. Number of flowers per plant, number of petals per flower and flower yield per plant were significantly affected by the interaction effect of pruning and growth retardant treatments.
