Abstract The present paper elaborated on the new technology application in libraries. The impact of ICT in libraries and the recent trends of ICT are discussed in this paper. Effective implementation of ICT in library work helps librarians to perform their tasks and services effectively and efficiently to facilitate their users. It went further to see ICT as a revolutionary trend rather than a tool. The present paper also discussed the implementation of new technologies in modern library work. This article measured the implementation of ICT in libraries as a window of prospect, factors affecting information technology in modern librarianship.
