An analytical study of communication behaviour of professional women at workplace Krishnaveni R., Associate Professor, Thamaraiselvi R., Lecturer PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore. Abstract A survey was undertaken to analyze the communication styles of professional women working in Corporate and Academic organizations. The study examines the interpersonal skills of women in upward, downward and horizontal levels of formal communication process. As a result, the behaviour aspects of both corporate and academic women are compared based on their speaking, listening and non-verbal activities in their workplace. The findings and suggestions of the research can facilitate women to understand their efficiency to interact with superiors, subordinates and peers and thereby build relationships through effective interpersonal communication for a successful career.
