Network Security: Attacks and Defense Ms. Ghodke Shalaka S. Asst. Prof. MITSOM College, pune Online published on 22 January, 2018. Abstract Today, the Internet is made up of tens of thousands of networks, interconnected without boundary. Network security is essential in this environment because any organizational network is accessible from any computer in the world and, therefore, potentially vulnerable to threats from individuals who do not require physical access to it. Organization's Data is also the most precious factor of today's businesses. Top business organizations spend billions of dollars every year to secure their computer networks and to keep their business data safe. Threats to data privacy are powerful tools in the hands of hackers that could use the vulnerabilities of a network to corrupt, destroy and steal the sensitive information. As the complexity of the systems and the networks are increasing, vulnerabilities are also increasing and the task of securing the networks is becoming more complex. This makes Network Security an essential part of today's businesses. In this paper we study about various types of attacks on network security and how to handle or prevent this attack. Top | |
