Abstract

Automobile chassis is an important part of an automobile it serves as a supporting part of the body mounted on it. It should be stiff and rigid enough to withstand the shock, twist, vibration and other stresses. This work describes the design and analysis of a non-conventional chassis for optimization of chassis with the constraint of fixing the base and finding out the equivalent stress (vonmisses), equivalent strain and deformation under maximum load condition according to the boundary condition. The design of the chassis has been modeled considering rectangular box type cross section and using the material is grey cast iron. Modeled in CREO 2.0 and analyzed in ANSYS.
