Abstract

First trimester medical abortion is highly safe and effective under medical supervision. If it is carried out without supervision, there can be serious complications which may lead to serious consequences. Despite legalisation of medical termination of pregnancy (MTP), people resort to self-administration of abortive pills without pre abortion check-up. This leads to increase in maternal morbidity and mortality. We are reporting a case of self-administered abortion pills in a patient which presented as incomplete abortion and was later diagnosed to be a case of molar pregnancy.
