Abstract The aim of the present study was to measure consciousness and stress in NCC and NON-NCC students. The sample consisted of 100 college students, 50 NCC students (Group I) and 50 NON-NCC students (Group II), in the age range of 17–20 years, from DEI, Prem Vidyalaya Girls Intermediate College and Radhasoami Educational Institute, Intermediate College, Dayalbagh, Agra, were selected. In both the groups 25 boys and 25 girls were included. The Consciousness Inventory Quotient (Brazadu, 2009) and Student Stress Scale (Akhtar, 2012) were administered to measure the tapped variables in this study. Mann-Whitney U test was applied for the analysis of data. The calculated Zu value indicated that there is a significant difference in the consciousness between the two groups viz. NCC and NON-NCC students (Zu=3.375, p < 0.01), while no significant difference in stress among NCC and NON-NCC students (Zu= 0.234, p > 0.05) was found. The findings are useful in raising the consciousness level and reducing stress among students who are the torch bearers of the country by incorporating mandatory physical activities like NCC training, Sports, Yoga, Meditation, etc. Top Keywords Consciousness, Stress, NCC cadets and NON-NCC students.
