Abstract In view of probable risk of age-induced pathophysiologic perturbations in association with disproportionate increase in adiposity, hematologic values of High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDLC) and Low Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDLC) were estimated among randomly sampled Waist Circumference (WC) linked obesity groups of older adults from Darbhanga and its suburbs between 50 to 86 years (n=130) with successive increase in age with a view to assess inter-relationship amongst the chosen parameters. Observed variations in HDLC and LDLC concentrations as a function of advancing age and central obesity could be attributed to variable dietary patterns, inadequate physical activity and cardio-protective ageing medication for curbing common obesity-associated dysfunctions viz. hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidaemia. Relatively more pronounced variations in the terminal age interval of both the sexes invariably with obese conditions might be thought suggestive of possible age-obesity nexus in late age.
