Abstract

This review article discusses the value of the Social Sciences and humanities within the medical curriculum. Medical science is used to study of disease Today, there is a trend towards establishing the medical humanities as a component of medical education. Learning about history, sociology, visual, performing arts, and literature can help physicians develop empathy and professionalism—skills that will lead to deeper connections with patients.
