Abstract

The article discusses the potential advantages and obstacles of incorporating ChatGPT into library reference services. It highlights benefits such as quicker response times, improved quality of responses, and decreased workload for librarians. Additionally, it examines ethical concerns related to ChatGPT, including privacy issues and biases. The study specifically looks at how ChatGPT is used in reference and information services in libraries. Created by Open AI, ChatGPT is a sophisticated language model with impressive natural language processing abilities. The research emphasizes the importance of transparency and accountability in using ChatGPT, as well as the necessity for continuous evaluation and improvement. Overall, this study adds to the existing literature on artificial intelligence in library services, providing valuable insights into the advantages and challenges of integrating ChatGPT into information and reference services.
