The educational system of India has emerged greatly with the benefits of ICT and open access material available online. The internet has brought the information and knowledge in the hand of educational community. This article aims to increase insight into the importance and benefits of open educational resources (OERs) and its application in teaching and learning process. To comprehend India’s position on OER, Government of India has taken many relevant initiatives which are disused in this article. In order to meet the professional goals of young Indians, this research also offers several advantages of OER concepts that are building complex lifelong learning pathways.
