Abstract Industrial sector is important for the development of Indian economy. Since 1991, there has been very rapid economic progress in India. Ever since the policy of liberalization and economic reform was implemented, India has emerged as an economic superpower of the world. The objective of this study is to contribute to the investigation of the effects of industrialization on economic development of Indian economy. Also, some policy measures are recommended to promote industrial production by improving the overall productivity of all sectors and ensuring sustainable development.
