Abstract

Industrialization has a major role to play in the economic development of the under developed countries. The major manufacturing industries in the Indian Economy are food products, basic metals, rubber and petrochemicals, chemicals, and electrical machinery. Industrial development is required for abolition of unemploymentand poverty in the country.The manufacturing sector in India is significantly important for a developing nation like India that depend on manufacturing from growth and development. This paper focuses on the contribution of manufacturing industries and business in Indian economy.
