Abstract India is one of the countries with the most success and growth. In India, software has been chosen as a growing area. Almost all of the world's biggest IT companies have set up offices or partnerships in India. “Plenty of technically qualified and cheap software manpower” was the main draw. Even though all of these things are true, more than half of the libraries in India don't use IT in their processes or services. Buying software for different library apps has been very important because it costs a lot. Because of this, a lot of libraries in India have already been managed for free by using open source software. This study shows how open-source software can be used to automate libraries and how it can help with library services. Their benefits will be found out, and that will help the library choose open source software. It gives a progress report on this subject based on how different Indian libraries use open-source software for library automation. Top |
