Dark energy, non-minimally coupled scalar field and big bang

Abstract

It has recently been shown that a scalar field, non-minimally coupled to space-time curvature, plays the role of a scalar field and drives the accelerated expansion of the universe. In this paper, we explore the conditions under which the energy of the scalar field may trigger the big bang.
