Abstract

The present communication deals with a new species of genus Pleurogenoides collected from the intestine of Rana tigrina at Aurangabad. Present species differ from all known species in having body elongated, maximum width at the middle of the body, the oral sucker sub-terminal, larger than ventral.

Ventral sucker pre-equatorial, posterior margin touches to the equator. Intestinal ceca reaches upto the anterior margin of tests. Seminal vesicle multilobed, cirrus protruded out of the body. Ovary rounded intra-cecal pre-acetabular. Uterus well developed occupying posterior half and intra-testicular space. Vitellaria follicular, arranged in two groups, extending from posterior third of oral sucker to anterior margin of testes.
