Abstract

A field trial was conducted during kharif l993, to evaluate the efficacy of HaNPV and Btk alone or in combination with insecticide in the management of sunflower head borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner). The results revealed that, two applications (first given at button stage of the crop and second 10 days later) of HaNPV @ 500 LE/ha recorded lowest damage to heads (31.6%) and highest seed yield of 3.1 q/ha followed by two applications of HaNPV @ 250 LE/ha + Btk @ 0.5 kg/ha and two sprays of HaNPV @ 250 LE/ha + endosulfan 35 EC @ 0.5 lit/ha. Two applications of HaNPV @ 250 lE/ha failed to give an appreciable control.
