Abstract

Crosses between Kalyansona monosomic series and DWR 39 were made to locate genes governing earshape. This analysis indicated that the shape of the ear is controlled by three major additive genes and some modifying genes along with the locus which is present on chromosome 5A. The three major genes were found to be present on chromosome 1A, 7A and 6D while modifying genes were found to be present on chromosome 3A, 58 and 3D.
