They float on or just beneath the surface of still or slow-moving bodies of fresh water and wetlands. End of the Twentieth century, they as a separate family Lennaceae. The flower of the duckweed genus Wolffia arrhiza is the smallest known, measuring nearly 0.3 mm long. W. arrhiza is an aquatic weed found in more than 77 districts in India. The impact of growthpromoting substances of W. arrhiza on lentil (Lens culinaris cv D.P.L. -15) juvenile seedlings has been studied with 24 hours of pre-soaking seed treatment at a temperature of 30-35 °C. The observations show that length of root, number of lateral roots, length of shoot, Fresh weight of juvenile seedlings, and dry weight of juvenile seedlings development are stimulated in seeds treated with 5% extract. The results are significant statistically. Top Keywords Wolffia arrhiza, Lentil, Seedlings, Growth, Phytohormone. Top |
