Abstract

Significant statesmen such as chancellors (prime ministers) and their attitudes towards the press have always been one of the most interesting subjects in the contemporary history of the Iranian Journalism. The reforms pursued by these personalities have often played a crucial role in the development of journalism in different eras. Sepahsalar (Moshir-o-Dole) is undoubtedly one of the popular chancellors of the Gadjar Era who is highly important in this respect. His reforms in different areas including the press have had considerable impact on the social and political life of the country. In this article, we have tried to take an analytical look at the situation of the press in the period of Sepahsalar and briefly examine both the reasons and consequences of his reforms in the field of journalism.
