Corporate Social Responsibility of Arabian Companies: A Comparative Study of YCGSI and YCIC in Yemen

Abstract

This paper concerns with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Companies in the Republic of Yemen. There is an attempt to shed light on and examine two eminent Yemeni Companies (YCGSI and YCIC) which have self-reported performance in some key areas of CSR. Findings are taken into account; the current CSR programs of two Yemeni Companies as subsidiaries of HAS groups of Companies are chosen in order to explore the nature of those programs in supporting national and local community. It is conducive to the society as well as to the financial success of businesses. However, many Companies are unaware of the requirements CSR requires of them and how to align CSR initiatives with their business goals.
